Transient blindness: Transient blindness may be the result of a blood clot traveling from the heart or the carotid arteries. This clot can interfere with vision if it lodges in the eye or in the part of the brain that deals with vision. The cardiologist will be looking to see if there is any source of clots.

Blood pressure issue: He is concerned that you had a rapid drop in your blood pressure leading to poor perfusion of the eye lowering the vision and blood pooling which led to your pale appearance. Most likely an issue of blood pressure or perhaps anemia or some other circulatory problem.
