Diagnosed with ms 5 years ago and on my 5th treatment. i normally feel pretty good, just never 100%. can aspertame or my diet making it worse?

MS: Neither of these have proven ill effect in ms. Your most cost effective approach to have regular follow up with your neurologist with a neurological exam to determine if you have a relapse. Sometimes your medication may cause you to feel less than 100% but you should not stop your medications.

One thing to try: If you're concerned that aspartame is making you feel worse, just stop using it and see what happens. Unfortunately, when you're not blinded to the choice, one's perception of change, either better or worse, can be strongly influenced by one's expectations or suggestibility.

Consider this: Aspertame is considered benign and safe by many, but does metabolize to carbon monoxide and other toxins, so, might be best to avoid. Some pts are sensitive to gluten and best to stay away from that also. A low fat, low salt diet seems useful, and vitamin D-3 supplements can assist. Propose you discuss all of this with your neurologist.
