Danger: No. No. No. Clotrimazole is to treat a fungal infection. Herpes is a viral infection of the nerve under the skin. It is not an infection of the skin. The sore is a symptom of what is going on deeper in the skin where you cannot see. It is in no way a fungal infection or would respond in any way to this anti-fungal medication.
