A member asked:

I gave birth a month ago but 2 weeks later had high blood pressure.he put me on 100mg of labetalol 2x a day. will this blood pressure go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It might not: High blood pressure that develops during late pregnancy or in the first week or so after delivery often will go away in a few weeks or a month. High blood pressure that develops after that probably won't, since that type is not related to pregnancy. High blood pressure when not pregnant can resolve with exercise, weight loss and eating healthy.
