May be normal: It is normal to lose approximately 100 hairs a day. If you think your hair is really getting thinner i would see a dermatologist to make sure there is no reason for this that is treatable.

Yes: If thesis new for you though, it would be worth having your thyroid, vitamin d and b12 and iron levels checked. Dyeing one's hair can cause this too.
