Fight/Flight system: Activated by nightmare causes nausea, shaking. Practice stress reduction, rhythmic breathing, relaxation, visual imagery daily for general relaxation and when going to sleep at night. Employ these strategies to calm self if awakened by nightmare and "re-write" nightmare in your mind to desired outcome to program your brain to do the same. Get mckay's "the relaxation and stress reduction workbook".
