Heartburn: Treatment depends on the frequency & severity of symptoms. Otc antacids may be sufficient for minor, occasional symptoms; h2 blockers like zantac/axid/tagamet may be needed for more frequent, more severe symptoms. If sx are almost daily, ppi's like prilosec/prevacid/protonix may be needed. Reducing dietary triggers (fats/soda/spicy foods) may also help. See doc for eval & treatment.
