Raised, red, itchy: Hives appear like welts. They are very itchy, raised, red, and oval to round in shape. They can wax and wane and even coalesce together. They can occur on any part of the body. They are warm to the touch and blanch when pressed. They can resolve and leave the skin perfectly normal appearing.
