Local: Buy local - then you know it's not coming from china. Go to a farmer's market. Look in the supermarket for local foods or those with country of origin (whole foods does this for some products). There may also be mom & pop supermarkets in your town that sell many prepared (bottled/canned) products from small companies in the region.
