How to know it is hives or chicken pox?

Lesion differs: Chickenpox lesions are described as a dew drop on a rose petal while a hive is just thickened skin with a discrete margin. Chickenpox arises as a small then larger blister that completes transition from blister to scab over 1 day. Hives can come and go, arising in one spot then another lasting for minutes or days in an unpredictable pattern.
