Herpes zoster : A common form of cutaneous neuropathic pain is associated with herpes zoster infection. Zoster-associated pain can be divided into two separate entities: acute herpes zoster (hz) and postherpetic neuralgia (phn), which can follow an attack of hz. Symptomatic treatment is recommended. For acute hz the use of antiviral therapy. Vaccination is the only prevention.
