Several: The most common first line treatment is oral antihistamines such as claritin, Allegra and zyrtec. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can help, but lead to drowsiness. Under physician direction, some times doses may be increased more than the usual dose. Other treatments that have been used (but no approved by fda) are h2 blockers, leukotriene modifers, cyclosporin, dapsone, xolair. Key point: avoid steroids!
