Autoimmune thyroid: this is a condition where the immune system starts attacking the thyroid. this will cause damage to the thyroid gland and consequently, lower thyroid hormone which necessitates the need for taking thyroid hormone. find the cause of the autoimmunity and you will be able to reverse the condition (depending on how much thyroid gland has been destroyed)
