Ethnicity irrelevant: Europeans and americans have about the same basic risk of polyp formation. You should use your family history as a stronger indicator for polyp formation. Is there any colon, breast or uterine cancer in the family? Are any of these primary relatives? If you have no symptoms and no history, you would fall into a regular risk category and should start routine screening at 50.
