Interesting question: Behavior ;#40;i think is most important;#41; and genetic predisposition are the primary contributors to your bodily reaction to bacteria in the mouth. "non-behavioral" biologics would be inflammation ;#40;auto-immune;#41;, cancer, gerd, trauma and developmental anomalies. In my experience, they are rare and ~80-90% of what I do is behaviorally mediated as a general dentist--usually tobacco or diet-related.
