A member asked:

What chemical in coffee is responsible for stains on your teeth?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Organic pigments: While not desirable dentally, some intended colorations (think makeup) actually use coffee extracts to make them more durable. Coffee staining of teeth is extrinsic , meaning good oral hygiene should hold it at bay.
