Are you confused?: Power chain is not the same as braces, but is used with braces to close spaces and consolidate teeth. Braces including the wires used to move teeth can move the teeth forward to alleviate crowding in certain cases. A qualified orthodontist is in the best position to answer your question and clear up any possible confusion.

System: Handle (brace) is put on each tooth. A wire is placed through the handles to guide the teeth...If front teeth are crowded straightening them can cause expansion-forward movement. If teeth expanded off of bone support can cause gum/bone damage. Power chain pulls teeth together if spaces are present, it doesn't cause advancement. Best answer: see an orthodontic specialist to evaluate your needs.
