Yes: This the old method of treatng ganglion cyst before surgery time, they used to hit with book or something to rupture.

Yes: Definitely rupturing it either purposefully or accidentally would cause sharp pain and perhaps decreased range of motion for a period of time.

Sometimes: Spontaneous rupture can be followed by pain. The next question is how do you plan on rupturing it? The may be more painful that the cyst rupturing. See your doc and i'll bet he will hurt you less
