A member asked:

I have a big mark from salicylic acid. is it a burn?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Could be: Salicylic acid is the main ingredient in wart removal solutions. It acts in a direct "burn" like toxic effect on the wart & if spilled over normal skin will have the same general effect. Depending on the strength of the solution & time on the skin, it could burn several layers of skin at a time.
