NO: A root canal can be done even in a 6 years old kid, so 19 is not young as long as the nerve is affected.

No, it's not: No it's not. If a cavity is left untreated , it will continue to grow until it invades the pulp chamber or "nerve" of the tooth. At that time, you would need to have either a root canal or have the tooth extracted. I have seen root canals done on 9 year olds.

Not too young: A root canal will save a tooth that has serious decay into the pulp, nerve tissue. The only other is extraction and. 19 is too young for extraction. It is also important to work with your dentist on prevention and avoid future root canals. This will be improving diet, brushing flossing, regular dental care.

RCT: Too young? No. Unfortunate? Yes. Rct can be done on any adult tooth at any age. With proper dental care, routine visits to the dentist and barring traumatic injuries there is no reason to even need rct.
