What's the recipe?: If you let me know what the recipe is i can tell you if it could be harmful to your teeth and / or gums. Some of the home remedies can be very harmful. It would be a much better idea to use a dentist supervised whitening system or try white strips.

Probably nothing: If you only used it once, then there's probably no long term affect. Whitening products need to be in contact with teeth for at least 20 minutes to start to be effective. Anything that you brush on your teeth usually won't stay and affect the tooth, unless it's a rinse of something very acidic, such as vinegar. Then you risk softening your enamel and then brushing the enamel away. See dentist.

See a dentist: What was in the recipe that you used for lightening your teeth? Some ingredients may be bad for your teeth. The safest way to whiten your teeth is by talking to, your dentist first about the options to so this sadly. White strips can work. It talk to the dentist first.

G-ma's recipe?: Was it g-ma's recipe or proctor and gamble's. Tooth whitening is so over-the -counter nowadays! for $200-$700 dentists can make trays and sell gel but it's all a complete waste of money if your teeth don't whiten to the level of your satisfaction. And ... You may not even be able to tolerate the potential sensitivity. Try white strips, if they whiten w/o sensitivity but u want more see dds.
