They don't really: But some people do think that the xx vs xy chromosome creates a slightly less robust genetic basis. I invite others to chime in, but i think that with a healthy lifestyle equivalent heritage of genes - a male and female will have similar longevity - don't forget the exchange of accidents/violence in males and pregnancy/inequality in females.
