Nothing serious: Nails can be brittle if you are low on iron in your diet. So get your blood checked for anemia and if your hemoglobin is less than 12-13gms, blood iron stores should be checked and supplement provided by your doctor.

Interesting.: Finger nails are sometimes the clue to several conditions ranging from vascular, fungal, neurological and poisoning to name a few. In this case i don't think you are being poisoned but a visit to a dermatologist is in order.

Unsure: A nail that is detached from nail bed can be white. Other causes can be fungal infection or poor blood supply to nail from conditions like cirrhosis, diabetes, iron-deficiency anemia, chemotherapy, malnutrition, hyperthyroidism, or failure of organs such as liver, kidney or heart.

Get checked : Is this a new change? Do the colors change to lighter or darker shades, or to white or blue? There could be spasm in the vessels in your fingers, & that needs to be checked & possibly requires active treatment.. Is there pain also? If you experience pain, then you should get an urgent evaliation. Hope that helps.
