A member asked:

What are things you can do to make menstruation less painful, both during and at other times.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

NSAID: A class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatories are excellent medication to help with the effects of menstruation. Menstruation causes an upregulation of prostaglandins and drugs like Ibuprofen are anti-prostaglandins. Another drug is birth control, which helps to regulate the hormonal swings your ovaries naturally make. Ibuprofen and birth control, those are the best.
