What can cause a 12 ys old to have a blockage in her intestines that the medicine that they gave her in the hospital didn't take care of it?

Blockage: What kind of blockage? Constipation? Or something that required surgery? Congenital problems like malrotation (an abnormal anatomy in the intestine) may not show up for years. Bad dehydration might cause an issue. Appendicitis. A growth of some sort. There are several options...More information is needed.
