Level 1c- good: Large group studies have shown favorable results if patient selection is strict. Disc displacement cannot be > 6mm, must be contained, no prior surgery, >75% disc height, no spinal stenosis or instability. 12 month follow-up shows sustained benefit. Risks include infection (discitis), neural injury, and device failure.
