Weakness in one hand? how can you tell if carpal tunnel or not?

Numbness at night: The most common initial symptom of carpal tunnel is numbness and tingling in the thumb and first two fingers that is worse at night, often awakening you from sleep. Especially if your symptoms have progressed to the point where the hand is weak, a neurologist can help determine if the cause is carpal tunnel or some other nerve disorder.

C Ur doctor: While carpal tunnel is probably the most known peripheral nerve compression syndrome there are a variety of others as well as other diseases such as stroke that can result in one handed hand weakness. See a physician for a thorough evaluation to discuss causes and treatments.
