?species?: I think you are talking about active cultures.At the point of production, probiotics have a specified number of active cultures(in billions) and usually include a dozen or more species. I've seen some tout up to 15 b active cultures and the number is fine. After the product sits on the shelf a few months the number falls.I consider it benign, and safe.
