Quickly: Most abrasions, if there is no infection or left over particles of whatever caused the abrasion, will heal over in less than 24 hours. The only long term problem is location: if the abrasion is central, the residual scar may disturb the vision; if the abrasion of out of the visual axis, there is usually no problem.
