A member asked:

What's the difference between oxycodone and hydrocodone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Oxy vs hydro: They are both opioid analgesics. They are used for pain management, and both have potential for abuse and dependency. Oxycodone is more potent. Hydrocodone; vicodin, lortab contains 500 of Acetaminophen with it. Oxycodone; Percocet 10/325, and 5/325, Percocet 10/650, also has Acetaminophen in it in various dosages. Abuse of these drugs may cause severe liver damage due to the Acetaminophen content.
