Here are some clues.: When a baby has reflux, food sloshes up into the esophagus - and it's painful. You may notice that your baby cries as if in pain when you lie the baby on his/her back. Some babies will start crying during feeding; and it can sound like a painful cry. Check with your pediatric care povider. There are imaging studies that can be done to tell for sure, and there are medications that help.
