Seek visit with doc.: Many things can cause tightness in chest--from the benign, such as muscle strain-to the more serious, such as angina or heart attack. A provider will need to know your cardiac risk factors (family history, smoking history, cholesterol), the context of pain (worse with exertion?), how long it has been going on, and any associated shortness of breath, nausea, etc. Need careful history and exam ASAP.
