Trismus: The most common complication after wisdom tooth extraction is trismus also called lockjaw, spasm and tightness in the jaw muscles. The best treatment is moist heat and jaw exercises. If concerned, see your surgeon for eval.

Visit dentist: If it is still locked you may be comfortable enough to manipulate the lower jaw out of the locked position. Take some IBU or an inflammatory med prior, use a cold compress (some like heat) to help with swelling and pain. If still in doubt or having issues I would see the dentist/OS who extracted the teeth as a post-op asap

Call your surgeon: Tightness of the muscles controlling the opening and closing of your jaw is common after removal of wisdom teeth. Moist heat packs may provide some relief. If the problem persists, call your dentist and/or surgeon to determine if your difficulty in opening is expected or if your should be seen for evaluation.
