Person-person-fomite: Infections can be spread person to person by hands, in food preparation or through touching objects where the organisms can live (fomites) like objects contaminated by body fluids such as toilets, sinks, door nobs ; flat surfaces. Spread can be airborne for some with sneezing being a better spread than cough. Infections can spread through direct contact (skin lesions, kisses, sex, birth...).
