See the dentist: See the guy making the crown. It sounds like a root area is not covered and may have caries. See the dentist. He can fill the cavity if it is there, and make the temporary crown a little longer to cover up the exposes root.

Black hole: May be decay, especially if your temporary crown has been in place for a protracted period of time. Please see your Dentist.
