STD: The only way to catch chlamydia is to have sex with someone who had it. Your partner may have acquired it from a partner other than you. You may have caught it when you had oral sex if there was no condom used. Oral sex is a less common way to acquire chlamydia but it is certainly possible especially considering this was with a prostitute who likely has been exposed to many other clients.

Chlamydia: Yes. Absolutely. Chlamydia can live in the throat for a very long time and cause no symptoms. Having received oral sex is a very high risk for contracting chlamydia. Do not fight this. But, get treated. Both you and your partner need to be fully treated before you can be together again.
