Relatively safe: Keppra (levetiracetam) ; Lamictal are both pregnancy category c antiepileptic drugs (aeds). Lamictal nearly earned category b recommendation, considered the safest AED during pregnancy. Keppra (levetiracetam) has minimal side effects in people taking it, generally benefit outweighs risk. The harm of 1 breakthrough sz on fetus is usually greater than 9 months' exposure to any aed, but Keppra (levetiracetam) + Lamictal is safe ; effective.
