Usually find several: Lattice is the retinas way of responding to peripheral stress by laying down a type of protective attachment to the underlying tissue. The stresses are equal in both eyes and lattice commonly is bilateral and multiple stress points occur in each eye so there are sometimes more than one area involved. They represent a continued area of stress for the formation of retinal detachment over time.
