Ct accurate: You can have emphysema without obvious smptoms. If you smoke quit now and avoid second and third hand smoke.

Emphysema?: A pulmonary function (pf) study can answer your question. People with COPD often have abnormal pf. Similar changes can be seen in some other lung conditions, such as asthma. If the pf testing includes a diffusing capacity (dlco) test, a low value suggests emphysema. Ask your physician to send you to a pulmonologist to see if the pf studies detect you have emphysema.
