Yes: The thickening of the skin, poor circulation and chronic ulceration occasionally see on the dorsum (top) of the foot can lead to tendonitis of the superficial tendons.

Ankle sprain over a year ago. Followed by chronic ankle instability, peroneal tendonitis and Achilles tendonitis. Have done PT for all conditions. Ankle is still unstable when tested by doctor, but no ligament tear. Are these injuries related?
