Ask your doc!: I don't mean to be rude but your questions should have been asked prior to agreeing to undergo procedure. The answer depends upon what's being pumped in. If narcotics or opioids, then no one ever gets over constipation (sorry!). Good news is that you can develop tolerance to sedation ; feeling drugged. Urinary retention is problematic as it can also be due to enlarged prostate in add'n to opioids.
