Men: Men seem to get cardiovascular disease sooner than women in general but after menopause, females start to catch up. Estrogen is protective before menopause.

Male/atherosclerosis: This depends on the cause and location of periphral arterial disease. Most common seen as atherosclerosis in lower extremities and that is more common in men although the outcome in females is worse. So what kind you are asking about ?
