Not needed: With a healthy diet, taking vitamin supplements generally have not been shown to benefit your health. However, taking a folate (folic acid) supplement of 400 micrograms daily is recommended for women who can have children to prevent some birth defects, and vit d can reduce the risk of falls in elderly with low vit d.
