A member asked:

Please answer! could you break out in a rash or hives from quitting smoking?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe, maybe not: Quitting -- nice job doing that! - can cause 'withdrawal symptoms' for a few weeks to a month. People may be irritable or stressed, which can cause hives. It's not common but can happen. If you use a medication to help you quit, this could be an allergic reaction. Also, quitting may cause levels of medications you take to go up or down. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist. http://1.usa.gov/1jzskux.
