Hey man!: A scar is proof that you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you. Almost all the men that I know cherish their scar & admire others'. You earn them (you buy tattoos). Talk with somebody -- perhaps your physician, but probably some of your friends as well. "Should I get this thing operated by a plastic surgeon or not?" Ultimately, the decision is yours (and perhaps your wife's).
