Not really..: If the tooth is vital, it is perfectly normal for the tooth to be sensitive when it is manipulated. Discuss your concerns with your dentist.

Temporary: It is normal, sometimes the sensitivity is tolerable, other times it is painful. Tooth needs anethesia.
