It's cosmetic only: Botox does not affect the cellular aging process at all. It works locally inside the facial muscles to relax them, diminishing the appearance of skin wrinkles. It typically wears off in roughly 12 weeks.

Prevent lines: Botox will weaken the muscles where it is injected and prevent wrinkles in the skin. If a person continues to do this over time, there is less likelihood that permanent wrinkles will develop in the skin. So it really can minimize some effects of aging and doesn't just "cover it up".

Use sunblock: Neurotoxins such as Botox relax muscles when injected properly. The duration of effect generally lasts 3-4months. During that time skin creases do not form and as a result your expression lines will be reduced which gives a less aged appearance. However the skin will continue to age and is much more effected by sun exposure. Sunblock does a lot more to keep skin healthy over the long term.

Botox: will relax the muscles of expression and by so doing will reduce or remove the appearance of wrinkles in the area. There is no true preventive aging that goes on. Effects wear off in 3-4 months.

No, it does not: Aging is a natural process that continues unabated but muscle paralytics can help decrease the signs of aging. The effect is temporary and needs to be repeated.

Botox: Consistent use of botox will reduce the appearance of wrinkles which would have resulted from chronic contraction of the targeted muscle.

Can prevent some: Botox works by inhibiting muscle contractions that cause facial lines/wrinkles. If started early, regular use of Botox can prevent deep lines from forming, especially between your brows, on the forehead and crows feet. Botox alone is not enough to prevent all signs of aging though, volume loss is a big part of aging and isn't affected by Botox. http://www.omahacosmeticsurgery.com/face/

Both: Botox stops muscle movement temporarily and thereby stops the wrinkles formed from them. It will improve the appearance once it takes effect, and if used consistently will minimize permanent wrinkle formation.
