Nasal sprays,: Steroids for short courses, and a medication called singulair (montelukast). As a year long allergy patient myself, it can get frustrating at times. Please discuss options with your doctor.

Yes: Depending upon what is meant by difficulty breathing there are several options available for treatment. If this is related to nasal congestion then nasal steroids or nasal antihistamines may be helpful. If the trouble breathing is related to asthma then there are several inhalers that could be used to treat the asthma. Allergy shots could be considered as well.
