Numbness: Are you anxious are feeling a lot of stress. The most common cause of numbness of hands and feet is anxiety with or without hyperventilation. Hyperventilation, repeated deep breaths, can occur in some people who just sigh a lot. If the numbness or tingling is constant and progressive, you need to see a doctor to evaluate for spinal cord or peripheral nerve problems (rare).
