Every time i've went to the er they tell me my white blood count is high, i'm kind of scared and want to know why it's high. is it cancer?

More evaluation: There are a couple causes of an elevated white blood count (wbc). The big categories include infection, steroids, stress and cancer. Cancer can come in the form of a leukemia where there is an excessive proliferation of white blood cells. When found early, intervention can make a give difference.
